Story

As a user who relies on screen readers for navigation,
I want to interact with forms that clearly communicate input fields, required information, and error messages,
so that I can complete the form independently and accurately without confusion or frustration.

The request forms's Current website page fails Trusted Tester SC 5.C Forms Programmatic Label or WCAG SC 1.3.1 Info and Relationships and WCAG SC 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value because of the following:

On the request form, the Current website page has a form field. The screen reader output is Public website and does not include the body text which includes relevant instructions.

Acceptance Criteria

  • The text input screen reader output is changed from Public website to What are the current websites for your organization ? using <fieldset> or equivalent best practice.
  • The text input screen reader output includes the relevant body instructions (Enter your organization’s current public websites. If you already have a .gov domain, include that in your list. This question is optional.) using <label> or equivalent best practice.
