During #20385, we had 5 people working on one set of ArcGIS Pro documents, so stored them on the G drive. It was problematic because [David's explanation/rant]
[David's explanation/rant]: ...because each individual is working in separate Pro Projects, which can only be opened by others as Read Only. To make edits we'd have to do a Save As and create a new Pro Project, which then creates multiple version. We can, and have been using, layout files, which are great, but it is the same issue. When we import a layout file and make edits, we need to make sure we export another layout file and write over the previous layout file.
I am hoping that we can have editing permissions elevated on the G drive GIS folders / files so we can open each other's Pro Projects and directly edit them, and they would only open as Read Only if someone actively has the project open.
It would be great if we could do this as cloud storage on One Drive, but ESRI acknowledges this is a problem, but it sounds like it is possible with the right protocol.
