Mesh Issues

I currently have Ender_427_UBL-ProUI-EX-MPC-05-13 loaded onto my standard voxelab aquila with a creality 4.2.7 board and i am running into mesh problems. i got my z height adjusted but when i go to make a mesh the probe isnt hitting the bed and when im able to get it to the mesh doesnt save. Also when i do get the probe to read the bed when i go to print the nozzle slams the bed and scrapes till i back off the z height then will fail to register a mesh and give me the mesh error. Im at a loss any help would be greatly appreciated

I have a copy of your hardware configuration: original aquila, board 4.2.7.
Almost the same firmware version - Aquila_427_UBL-ProUI-EX-IS-MPC-05-13.bin (well, because it’s a sin to have such a powerful board and not use Input Shaping).
And there are no problems with the auto level (that thing on the bed is not a scratch, but the remains of a pet-g, which I keep inventing a way to get off the bed).
And I must note that I don’t understand “z height adjusted” - yes, you adjust the z-offset, but this is in another menu (Prepare -> Z-offset Wizard) after the height map has been compiled.
And I really hope that this Z limit sensor of yours is not connected like in my video.

my sensor does stop and and react the way you would expect i did put on the firmware that you currently have and its still doing it. i am going to go through the z offset wizard and do that then do the whole disable the steppers and do a manual level to see if that will help. but currently my z offset is at like -8.5 so im not sure if my machine is messed up or if its a firmware thing but if its -8.5 and i level through out the entire bed then i guess it wont make much of a difference as long as the mesh works and does what it is supposed to do.
but we will see i suppose its just becoming frustrating. i mean im new to this part of the 3d printing world like dealing with board changes and firmware i mean before i swapped the board i had the original alex firmware and it was fantastic. ive seen nothing but great things about this one and its just pissin me off lol like my z offset was like -3.11 or something like that with that firmware and with this one im at that -8.5 so i dont know.

and yea its a 3d touch. the one thing I have noticed with this firmware when it does probe on the off chance is that every couple of probes the probe doesn't drop down and it still does the probing step which is weird

I replied on reddit. What firmware (the whole filename) are you using?
When it is homing it does look odd that the probe is flashing red, this makes me think it has failed to home so there may be a wiring problem or fault with the probe.
I can't really make out in the video but id the probe actually touching the bed? It could be triggering early. I also see it move up a bit afterwards.
Check your offsets and put them to 0. Even better reset all settings to default to start with a blank slate.
Once you get the probe triggering properly then you can put the right offsets in. I had posted a link to setting up ABL on reddit.

I had (and still have a 3d-touch) but this thing with its features and these periodic failures got me. The thing is that 3d-touch is poorly protected from interference and even the ferrite thing helped little (seen in the video).

and I purchased bl-touch (https://aliexpress.com/item/33047635496.html), not very cheap, but reliable.

If you have a ferrite ring, you can try it. Then flash a copy of my firmware and if there are still effects, then the question is for your budget: either take a chance with bl-touch or try other firmware.

I did watch that video. I did also see another one using a post it note that I may end up trying. I may also have to check the wiring on the 3d touch. I plugged it in the same as I had it on the stock board but I could be wrong.

@RagnarsValhalla I had this issue if the probe isn't touching the bed when I put a different X gantry plate on. It would sometimes touch the bed and not in some spots. The probe wasn't low enough. So, I printed a spacer

this should extend the probe so it can reach the bed. once you get the mesh to finish, there is the option to [Save] or [Continue], select Save.

At the moment I can't get it to print because it can't do a mesh and when the print starts it doesn't find a mesh or doesn't touch the bed. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but I'm pretty sure it's me and not the firmware at this point

it might be best to "start over". like backup/retrace your steps. if its not touching the bed then it could be hardware limited - you may need a spacer to extend the probe downward. if it does all that and still doesnt work, check your wiring. there shouldnt be the old Z limit switch plugged in because its replaced with the probe.

once u get that, you can level the bed or get close at least, the firmware has a tramming wizard which helps. personally I like to use manual before auto when it comes to tramming. the difference is using the nozzle tip to adjust the bed height first. its just optional, because you can use the probe - auto mode. but I like to get close manually first.

the 3D touch may or may not have issues regardless... because its inexpensive to begin with. technically it should work.

What I did was just downloaded the manual mesh firmware unplugged the 3d touch and plugged the z limit switch back it. I just got done doing a mesh and running a print to see if it actually prints. And if it does I may just keep it that way
