@leonardpahlke thanks for kicking off this thread!

KEEP DOING: Assembling list of sustainability related talks
MORE OF: Spread the word on how to add your talk to the green talks list. I missed it. Maybe we could add it to a kubecon reminder
START DOING: Maybe we arrange talks or demos for during the TAG meeting at KubeCon to pull people in

MORE OF: Talks on the associated technology, such as Kepler

  • KEEP DOING: plan a meetup and attend major conferences
  • MORE OF: informal get togethers
  • START DOING:
    • have a kiosk / project booth
    • plan the presence at major conferences earlier & make sure we communicate events not at the event but weeks before
  • STOP DOING: be desperate for contributors (ideally, contributing to the TAG should be more natural fit. We should continue highlighting, that we look for support and there are a lot of ways to contribute, but we don't need to message in every discussion that we are desperate for contributors)

KEEP DOING: State of the ecosystem talks, one chair/lead, one other member, lots of good conversations.
MORE OF: informal get-togethers, planned ahead, maybe small sponsored breakfast?
LESS OF: nothing yet... we need more more more.

I know I was not asked but this topic is something that I care about a lot and advocate a lot for so my 2 cents:
KEEP DOING: List of sessions
MORE OF: open spaces session for sustainability, technical details
START DOING: TAG sustainability talks and get interest from the group who wants to participate and then people can submit/participate on rotating basis
LESS OF: general stuff about sustainability
IDEAS: Colocated event (I have already raised this to CNCF waiting for response and will update once I hear something)
so a colocated event, open spaces session, list of people in the TAG attending KubeCOn, Interested in speaking, more content creation around KubeCon, encourage people to submit more sustainable tech talks for Kubecon via slack.

  • KEEP DOING: Lists of sessions and advocating for the TAG! Specifically the keynote session introduced me to the TAG and made me look up the update session.

  • MORE OF: More promotion and mentions in and amongst other things from contributors would be great.

  • IDEAS: Is there any way we can get a sustainability track at KubeCon to quickly see the events? I will bring this up at the Comms WG. It would also be interesting to consider how we can get new people to the zero-day meet up when they don't even know of the TAG yet - i.e. they aren't checking normal comms channels yet!

  • IDEAS: Write a blog post or create social media content sharing the key learnings from KubeCon.
