Apparently I've used Meshlab a lot over the last decade so it suggested that I post a note here. Since this is literally the least I could do to acknowledge all the use I've gotten from Meshlab, I feel somewhat obligated to share.
I've been 3d printing for many years (on a wide variety of printers). I have used Meshlab extensively to convert from one format to another (this time it's a SpaceX Starship model in some tool-centric format and Mechlab, of course, can convert it for me), to reduce the number of faces in a model and to do many, many other transformations.
The two things that are true about meshlab is that it's free and that it does stuff that no other free tool can do (and, I kind of suspect, some things NO OTHER tool can do). There are some crazy functions in that menu!
So I want to take a moment to thank the developers of meshlab for their hard work and for keeping this free!
