Bootstrap 5 dropped jQuery.
Any chance of removing jQuery dependency for typehead?

Check out the PR in #163 where someone worked on this for the Bloodhound.js portion. I think there's still work remaining for the main typeahead.js script. Most of the core maintainers (myself included) seem to be in the maintenance-only mode. I'm not sure anyone has the time to devote to new work on this, but we'd welcome a PR.
