I think this is a must have for a world of responsive images. And the reality is that sometimes you have variable dimensions on image and being able to do a percentage would be a lot nicer than having to define multiple image transforms. |

Why don't you just set up two transforms, where one is 2x the size of the other one? |

It would be great if you could create image transforms that were based on a percentage of the original uploaded image, so you could post an image at 2x size and have a transform to auto generate a 1x size image. It would help facilitate things if you are using something like retina.js to handle image substitutions in your page content because then you could insert images into rich text fields at the 1x size and configure retina.js to handle swapping to the 2x.
