Rationale

Developing accessibility best practices for cross-compatible digitized materials will ensure all users can easily access resources, promote equitable information access, and provide staff with the training needed to implement these standards effectively.

Outcomes

  • Accessible Cross-Compatible Digitized Content

Creating accessible, cross-compatible content enhances the usability of our collections for all users, regardless of their abilities or the devices they use. All users will be able to access and benefit from a rich variety of resources, fostering a more equitable information environment.

  • Best Practices Documentation

Creation of a comprehensive best practices guide that outlines effective strategies for ensuring accessibility in digitized collections. Accessibility experts and external organizations will validate guidelines and contribute to their development.

  • Training Resources for Staff

Development of training materials and workshops for staff to educate them on accessibility best practices within cross compatible formats.

  • Awareness Campaign

Launch of an awareness campaign to inform stakeholders and users about the importance of accessibility in digitized collections and the newly developed guidelines.
