Add suffix or prefix once inserted

Is there any way to add a prefix or suffix once the user chooses a tag? For example, choosing the “Amber” could insert “@amber ” (a prefix of “@“ and a suffix of a space.) The space is what I’m mostly after; saves my users a keyboard press.

(ps. fantastic plugin! I searched the internet hard, and nothing else comes close.)
