First major revision of the pcb to enable full stereo audio input and output, 4 additional capacitive touch keys to a total of 16 (for better step sequencing), proper headphone and speaker amplification, improved lipo battery support, and more.
Build Notes
This revision of the board uses mostly SMD components (all passives are 0805) and a top-layer only layout to reduce overall height. This design should be relatively hand-solder friendly, but the only exceptions are the QFN package used by the PAM8019 amplifier and the 2 MEMS microphones which will require SMD reflow.
Access to the BOOTSEL button on the Pico microcontroller is slightly obstructed by the character lcd. It is recommended to use a removable pin header on the display rather than directly soldering to the board to ensure that this button can be pressed during firmware updates.
PCB Gerber Files
Pre-generated gerber files are provided that are compatible with JLCPCB standards, but it is highly recommended to use KiCAD 7 to plot gerber files manually according to the requirements of the desired PCB manufacturer.
