Update Prefill docs in VADS

User Story

As a design system contributor,
I want to finalize and update the documentation for the prefill pattern,
So that teams have access to accurate and up-to-date guidance on prefill implementation.

Background

To ensure consistency and clarity in the VA Design System (VADS), we need to make some final updates to the prefill-related documentation. This includes promoting, demoting, and redirecting pages as well as updating outdated content.

Tasks

1. Promote the "Update Prefill" page:

   • Change the status of the Update Prefill page from draft to published.

2. Demote or remove the "Know how info is updated" page:

   • Update the Know how info is updated page to reflect its deprecated status or remove it entirely.

3. Create a redirect:

   • Redirect the URL https://design.va.gov/patterns/help-users-to/know-how-their-information-is-updated to https://design.va.gov/patterns/help-users-to/update-prefilled-information.

4. Update the Prefill Component page:

   • Remove the alert about replacing the page from the Prefill component page.

5. Update the "Know When Their Information is Prefilled" Page:

   • Replace the existing screenshot for the introduction page with the updated prefill alert message that reads: "We've prefilled some of your information."
   • Remove the "Prefilled Info Alert" Storybook example

6. Ask Users for Addresses

   • Update the 3rd bullet point here to replace the sentence "Refer to the Help users to know how their information is updated pattern[link]" to "...Help users to update prefilled information[link]”.

Acceptance Criteria

• The "Update Prefill" page is published and visible in the design system.
• The "Know how info is updated" page is demoted or removed.
• A redirect is set up from https://design.va.gov/patterns/help-users-to/know-how-their-information-is-updated to https://design.va.gov/patterns/help-users-to/update-prefilled-information.
• The Prefill Component page no longer contains the alert about replacing the page.
• The "Know When Their Information is Prefilled" Page has updated screenshot and prefilled info alert removed.
• The "Ask users for addresses" page has the new updated link to "Help users to update prefilled information"
• All changes are reviewed and approved by the VADS team.

Constraints & Considerations

• Ensure all updates follow VADS content management and publication standards.
• Test the redirect to confirm it works as expected.
• Confirm with stakeholders before removing any pages.
