We need to consider how a breed page might look. What should a user see (and what do users want to know) about an individual breed, when they click a breed card or search for a breed and click into it?

Considerations for research:

  • What do existing competitors do (e.g. The American Kennel Club)?
  • Could we ask AI to give us the top 10 questions dog owners want to know about dogs?
  • How might the kind of data we want to present affect our plans for the backend?
  • What kind of relations would we have between the data we present on the frontend? Can we click on a common dog behaviour, and find other breeds with that behaviour pattern? Or should we also consider behavioural pages, articles on behaviour?
  • What about genetic traits (@dnlmlszl) and known health considerations, how would we present this on the frontend.

Let's start thinking about a few of the considerations above early on so we have an idea of the kind of data we want to collect and exactly what experience we want to give users.

Let's try to keep it simple initially, and keep the ideas in the backend channel in flow. We should stick to simple and achievable options first, to get an MVP off the ground soon.
