I have been tinkering with GRW and Far Cry 5 to see if I can get some performance gains as I did a little over a year ago in AC Odyssey, but I cannot get Far Cry 5 to launch with the newest version of DXVK. 2.5.2 and 2.5.1 do not launch the game, it just crashes, but 2.3.1 launches and works moderately fine. The DXGI.log file does not populate at all in the newer versions, and I have already attempted disabling the Ubisoft Connect Overlay and RTSS overlay. If this cannot be resolved this issue can be closed, I just am exploring all my options

I have tested down the releases and found the last version of DXVK that is working is 2.4.1. It is the newest version that can successfully launch into the game and complete the benchmark without crashing

Just noting that I've quickly tested the game with NVK without issue. Haven't tried the Nvidia driver yet

Seems not DXVK issue.
In #4211 I tested with overlay disabled and the game can run. However when I test it again today with no matter what DXVK version the game cannot launch on same device and I got empty dxgi log too. Tested SpecialK with dxgi.dll, works well.
Since Ubisoft did broke some games in launcher updates (yes they broke The Crew 2 just half month ago by updating their launcher), I think it should be another issue triggered with Ubi's some update with their launcher. Need further investigation anyway.

Block RTSS and OBS overlay fully with variable: Not work
NV control panel vulkan swapchain set to prefer native or prefer DXGI: Not work
Delete Overlay64.dll in Ubi launcher: Not work

Attach with x64dbg: the game self destroyed after dll loaded without any exception caught, don't know why

Is there any way to know if this is a Ubi launcher issue or a driver issue? I have tried to use the Resistance mod which has the vulkan API included and it also does not work. Game still launches using dx11

It's very unlikely to be a driver issue, the Nvidia Vulkan driver shares a ton of code between Windows and Linux.

The mod talked about (Resistance) ships 32bit dxvk so it doesn't work for anyone with that since the game is 64bit.

Nearly 99% Ubi issue.
Same device, same driver, worked several month ago, doesn't work now. Only Ubi launcher updated and regular windows updates. Windows updates shouldn't break this as no other games affected. So I think 99% Ubi issue.

UPDATE: I can confirm it's Ubi issue.
Tested with some [redacted] version that can launch without Ubi launcher and it works pretty well with DXVK 2.5.2 while launch original version from Ubi launcher still crash.
This issue can be closed as not our bug.
