Non-source directories under src/ #1020
Labels
Comments
Kurt,
The directory htmlsrc/ contains the html fragments and a script that builds the static web pages in html from the html fragments and the man pages in man/ (and along the way generates the postscript versions of the man pages in ps/). I do this manually - it’s not part of the build system.
The share directory includes the Levitus82 water properties database used by mblevitus and the Proj4 projected coordinate system database used when MB-System is linked to Proj versions < 6. The Proj database will go away because Proj6 now incorporates it’s own much more complete database. Hopefully the Levitus82 database will be replaced by one of the modern examples.
What structure do you propose? The contents of share, man, and html still need to be installed by “make install”.
Cheers,
Dave

I think that most other software packages have these at the same level as src. Possibly all the documentation should go under I am not suggesting any change in what is installed and where. |
Related: 0aafcb7 for how I see grouping of things which shows up here https://github.com/dwcaress/MB-System/tree/master/src |
