BIRT designer 4.13 : problem generating report store in a workspace not in application directory

Hello

I can't test my reports when the workspace is not in the BIRT directory.

I store my designs on git in a local copy that is not in the BIRT directory, but to test them I have to put them in a workspace in the application directory, otherwise I get the following error:

• The report file : catalogue_de_services.rptdesign does not exist or contains errors.

I work by default with a folder which is not the workspace folder.
And it works for BIRT 4.13 and the latest built with 4.14.

You are able to open the report from the none-workspace-folder with the designer and is it display correctly?
Have you tried it with a Smoke-Test-Report (e.g. report with 1 label) because the message means that the file wasn't found or contains another error.
It seems to me that the error appears at execution moment from the designer when you start the preview.

Can you reproduce the error also with the latest built?

But I have seen this error : class org.eclipse.birt.report.designer.internal.ui.editors.schematic.ReportMultiBookPage cannot be cast to class org.eclipse.gef.ui.views.palette.PalettePage (org.eclipse.birt.report.designer.internal.ui.editors.schematic.ReportMultiBookPage is in unnamed module of loader org.eclipse.osgi.internal.loader.EquinoxClassLoader @39240aa3; org.eclipse.gef.ui.views.palette.PalettePage is in unnamed module of loader org.eclipse.osgi.internal.loader.EquinoxClassLoader @6202f8bf)

The problem is that you doesn't use the latest version and on your used version is a bug which is fixed with the latest version, see #1211.

So please try 2023-06 with BIRT 4.14 and here is the download link:

Hello

One of my roblems was that I haven't the last version.

But the main problem for this topic is that the path to my worspace had accent marks characters.
c:\dépot\git...\birt -> generation problems
c:\depot\git...\birt -> no problems

Sounds good!
Please be aware also blanks/spaces at the folder name can make trouble.
