We tried localizing documentation a long time ago but didn't end up continuing the experiment. I remember it being fairly costly and slow. And our docs can change on every PR. So it's complex. But maybe an important thing. So I've pinged the docs folks on this to talk about it.

Nik summed it up pretty well. Localization is on our minds as we move toward more modular documentation, which should give us more flexibility in how we might deliver localized content. It's a recurring request and we understand it would be very helpful.

I'm going to transfer this issue to the docs repo, as it's a discussion/goal that extends beyond just Elasticsearch.
