Back calc priors

I am working on a reassessment of the dynamics of past FMD outbreaks. One of the contributions will be to estimate the reproduction number using back-calculation with the estimate_infection() function of Epinow2 package.
So, I would like to ask if references are available to this calculation model, especially regarding the Rt priors. I'm using the default prior in backcalc_opts().
