I added a new custom header looks great:
http://lift.d.pr/mCPB/1QXLzqc8

When trying to go back to the original header, it says saved and even shows in the customizer window:
http://lift.d.pr/1l9KJ/22cQBRaU

But when returning to the site it has the previous header

I tested on this new site: testing.faithmade.com

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Make the theme Praise
  2. Go to Appearance > Customize
  3. Click on Header Image
  4. Add New Image
  5. Click Save and Publish
  6. Go to site and see new header
  7. Go back to Customizer > Header Image
  8. Add New Image
  9. Click Save and Publish
  10. Go to site front end and see new header
  11. Go back to Customizer > Header Image
  12. Select 'Suggested' it should be the default image that came with the theme:
    Should look like this:

13. Click Save 14. Go to Site and here is where you don't see the header change. You see the last save image:

but in the customizer it shows the default image as you choose:

@garand This is currently slated for 1/22 but just wanted to touch back on this. I know we could find a fix for this and you reached out to people in the community asking for insight.

Any thoughts for the next step? Trying to evaluate if we could include this for the 1/22 push.

Yea, I remember this now. I never really heard back from WordPress peeps. I'll test to see if it's still a problem and go from there.
