I’ve discovered in order for the hover to work it must come from a dataset with the column headed “Material Name”. Sounds rater specific to what I was working on in 2012.
Likewise footnotes need to appear in a column headed “comment”.

Find some way to allow hovers to work when data is coming from sources such as the 5-star plugin as in this example.

We've shown that these features worked for the MSI data.
