Project Summary

The Watchit platform is a Web3-based video distribution marketplace that empowers creators and audiences through decentralized technologies. By integrating Filecoin, Watchit will enhance its decentralized storage and retrieval systems to provide transparent, scalable, and secure solutions for video content. Our platform addresses the inefficiencies and inequities of traditional centralized platforms, offering creators ownership of their intellectual property and innovative monetization options.

With a beta MVP already live, this grant will enable the integration of Filecoin’s advanced storage and retrieval capabilities. This integration will ensure optimal user experiences, data immutability, and efficient content delivery, pushing Filecoin’s ecosystem forward by demonstrating its utility in the creator economy.

Impact

Watchit addresses critical pain points in the current digital media landscape, including lack of creator control, limited monetization options, and platform dependency. Integrating Filecoin’s storage and retrieval tools will:
