FINOS Community Call (September 11th): Rimma and Serge will prepare content showcasing the DEI SIG's work.
DEI Keynote Session (September 25th): The session will feature a networking session led by Madeleine, followed by a panel discussion with Kay, Jaya, and potentially Serge, moderated by Rita. The focus will be on addressing the lack of women leaders and diversity in open source, and driving authentic leadership and empowerment.
GHC Planning
Open Source Day (Virtual): The virtual event is well-advanced and will feature various projects and FINOS members. The event will be limited to registered GHC attendees.
BlackRock Hosted Reception on the 7th: The original venue is too expensive. Michelle will explore alternative options and check with the venue about reducing costs. Attendees were asked to provide hotel information to help identify other suitable locations.
Leveraging Member Booths: Morgan Stanley has offered their booth for FINOS representation. Rimma confirmed FINOS can only support one booth at this time due to bandwidth constraints and we would look for Karl to staff.
Projects
NatWest Follow-on - Best Practices for DEI and Applying OSR Model: James and Leann are exploring tangible actions and project outcomes for DEI initiatives within NatWest and the broader industry. They plan to meet with the wider Women in Tech group to align tactical and strategic thinking. The potential for developing a DEI best practices project, similar to the Open Source Readiness model, was discussed.
Michelle: Explore alternative venues and cost-saving options for the BlackRock reception. Reach out to the Philly team and venue for suggestions.
GHC Attendees: Provide hotel information to Michelle to explore further options
@ritachaturvedi & @Perelmuter: Coordinate on Morgan Stanley booth logistics for FINOS representation at GHC.
