does not handle mailto links

I am using thunderbird flatpak on ubuntu 21.04. I don't get thunderbird to handle mailto links.

This is my .config/mimeapps.list:

[Added Associations]
...
x-scheme-handler/mailto=org.mozilla.Thunderbird.desktop;
...

[Default Applications]
...
x-scheme-handler/mailto=org.mozilla.Thunderbird.desktop
...

I tested various flatpak & non-flatpak apps and clicking on mailto correctly opens thunderbird flatpak new mail window. In .config/mimeapps.list I have

[Default Applications]
...
x-scheme-handler/mailto=org.mozilla.Thunderbird.desktop;

Tested on ArchLinux and Kubuntu 21.04.

I don't know why it doesn't work for you then. It could be something related to xubuntu or your system config.
