I think so. But perhaps we should add it to the CI as well, i.e. when we do a release? We have everything set up in .github/CI/docs.yml to push it to the website, so we just have to do something similar to the release. We do, however, need to rebuild the website when we do this.

in particular the citation part.

Yeah. My idea is to

  1. Add an action that pushes changes of the website repository to the server, and
  2. Extend the release action in this repository to push the release to the website and generate a new downloads.html.

But I'm currently in the process of moving, so it may take a week or two before I get it running. We also have the problem that the server files and website repository are in a bit of a mess, but I believe I have fixed most of it.
