To help make feeds visible on page, you could encourage people to look for or use the standard feed icon http://www.feedicons.com as well as the the Help text.

Good idea. Encouraging people to look for icons will be merged in #7 and I've added icons to the site owner recommendations list in #8 (this will probably be a whole page). Closing this issue as it's merging with those.
