How does ghostty select symbols to render?

Here's what my prompt looks like in alacritty (on top) and ghostty (on the bottom, tip 2025-01-06). What causes ghostty to select a different font for the symbols, and how do I override this behavior? I would prefer my prompt to look like it does in alacritty.

Ghostty has its own set of ligatures that it will use if the currently used font does not have its own ligatures. I believe it's JetBrains Mono everything is based on.

Ghostty does not have it's own set of ligatures. Ligatures are only handled by fonts. What's probably happening with the differing symbols is that Alacritty and Ghostty are falling back in different orders to fonts. In Ghostty, you can control the order that fonts are searched for glyphs by listing the font-family config multiple times:

font-family=one
font-family=two
