index.html page is having redirection for https://freeode.com which is not showing up at moment. Alternatively I can see there exists https://freenode.net. Can you please check if this is case & if https://freenode.net needs to be used instead.

There has been a lot of controversy with Freenode lately, and maybe it was done on purpose? Other than that , don't expect a response from the devs.
