Reorder slides

I want to re-order the slides on the front-page, just because newer slide 7 is of more importance than the older slide 1, or I want to hide (read skip) some (older) slides. Is this something that is, besides adapting the mdl_config_log table manually, possible in another way.

Hi Rhys, It all depends on what exactly is required. So some sort of order solution to be worked out and a simpler hidden slide option. The snag is that one specific requirement could take weeks and another five a few hours. But given what has been said at the moment, probably 2 - 4 days. However that could easily change to a day or 1+ weeks once I knew exactly what you wanted and expected the solution to do. Therefore, please could you say how you would like the solution to be / what you require. Like: Hidden slides - hidden or draft / published like Wordpress and my other themes. Slide order number or slide group number or some bespoke setting that orders the slides in some way. Ideal would be a drag and drop graphic, but that's difficult at the moment and would take lots of time to learn the skills before I could design the solution. Or something else? Kind regards, Gareth

I would love to have a nice Ajax style sorter with drag and drop capability - however finding the funds to pay you to do this may be beyond my purse.

I was thinking as an interim method simple reversing the order in which the slide show pulls the settings so that the last slide added would display first. Maybe adding a hide slide feature for each slide also?

This would help me out - but would be interested in possible cofounding the more advanced feature if there are enough other parties. What is a day rate for your services?

And what about a new parameter that ask for the order in numerical form ?
For example :
Sort order = 2,3,1,4
... then the first slide would be n°2, then n°3, n°1 and finally n°4
I also expect such a feature.

Hi Patrick, I was thinking of something similar, but what happens when the number of slides increases and the setting is not changed? Should there be another optional setting to use slide order or not. Or should that setting be ascending, descending or slide order? What happens when the number of slides decreases? Should invalid numbers be removed? Etc... Kind regards, Gareth

Yes... You're right !
Or... an order parameter for each slide and when you click on a "Reorder" button it puts them in order as the old paging system for questions in Moodle's Quiz ?
