While similar issues have been previously closed as duplicates of #647, that issue is closed now while the problem still persists.

What is a realistic long-term solution? Can the community help in any way?

In case anyone comes here for the outage starting 2022-10-02, the OS and database system are being upgraded. This should assist in future performance.

It won't. Too many database queries using full table scans. Can't just throw new hardware or software at a problem like that and expect it to be fixed. Could have taken several fixes from my fork and maybe fixed some long standing issues.

Forgive me if this is the wrong place to comment, but is there any progress for 500 errors when trying to sign in to an account? (As a personal stake, a silent Google update hard-bricked my Pixel and I lost all my data. Right now I'm just trying to pull my podcast data from gpodder so I can rebuild)

The only help at this point would be for them to admit defeat and shut the site down for good.
