• Dmitrii: GSC license.
  • We "implicitly" had a license all this time? Unclear if we can choose a license now, or because of our history, the license must be LGPL.
  • Comment from Sankar: Intel usually recommends BSD-3 Clause License for projects like GSC.

Dmitrii: GSC doesn't have an explicit license.

Does it mean that implicitly it is LGPL, same as core Gramine?

Michal: Tricky, but Michal thinks that all contributors assumed that they are contributing to the LGPL project (same license as core project). But also, GSC was almost exclusively developed by Intel and ITL, so we can compile a list of authors and ask them whether we can change the license (we need the ack from every author who contributed significant amount).

Michal: I think it makes sense to change the license to e.g. BSD.

TODO:

1. Choose the appropriate license. The recommendation is BSD 3.
2. Need to compile the list of authors (of significant contributions)
3. Get an ack from every author that they allow to modify the license from (implicit) LGPL to explicit BSD 3.
4. Add the BSD 3 license when everything agreed.
