All my monitors are called "Generic PnP Monitor". The tip in the Readme about changing the id via the registry works, but is quite cumbersome. I have 12 monitor entries in the registry, even though I only use 2-3 monitors. It is difficult to find out which is which. Especially when Windows sometimes re-installs a monitor and essentially resets its name to Generic PnP Monitor.
I wonder if there is a better type of ID that could be used instead, which ideally has a unique value by default and not only after fiddling with the registry.
In the Windows Advanced Display Settings, monitors do have a specific name related to their brand/model name 🤔

I've found that if you can find the oem drivers for the monitor and install those, that usually gets you the correct name for the monitor, in one case I also found that to fix a DDC issue I was having.
