This recipe is a secret/filler recipe from the Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook, 10th edition, page 64. It's not in the TOC or index. It's just there on the page.

- 3 C flour
- 1 1/2 C sugar
- 4 t baking powder
- 1/2 t salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 C milk
- 1/2 C vegetable oil
- 1/2 package of chocolate chips (optional)
- 4 T brown sugar
- 2 T flour
- 2 t cinnamon
- 2 T butter/margarine
- 1 C chopped nuts (optional)
In a medium bowl, mix the dry ingredients. In a smaller bowl, mix the wet. Commbine both bowls and mix well. Pour into a greased 9 x 9 x 2 baking pan.
For the topping, mix the brown sugar, flour and cinamon, cut in the butter with a fork or a pastry blender. Mix in the nuts, then sprinkle over the batter in the baking pan.
Bake in a 350°F oven for 30 minutes.
