@jn3va it would be possible to do this but it would need the matting code to be tweaked. It's probably not too hard to do if you're familiar with that kind of thing. I would probably use one of the matting styles such as I've not really looked at the details of @helgeerbe's picframe-overlay but is it possible to set a background for the text there with a low alpha to give a shadow background. |

All of the various matting methods ultimately call __layout_images() for the final placement and creation of the matted image(s). You might be able to fiddle with some of the math there to get what you're after. If that can be made to work, the advantage is that it'd impact ALL matting styles at once... |

Is there a way to shift the image to the left so that effectively the matt has a larger area on the right side? What I want to do is use a portion of the right side of the monitor to display other information (data from HomeAssistant, the weather etc.). something like this...
I've got the overlay display portion working by modifying Helgeerbe's picframe-overlay project but depending on the picture size and matt width it doesn't look as good because there is an overlap of the overlay, the matt and the photo. Also, if the matt matches the overlay rendering color its very hard to see.
What I've tried so far was defining the display width and height using the configuration.yaml but that causes the frame to run as a window and not full screen (I'm using a desktop image so I can run the picframe-overlay code). I also tried the display_x and _y offsets but that effects the whole display and has more of a zooming effect than what I'd like to do. Any ideas?
