Discussion
My old API-based services allowed me to create groups based on someone being a member of another specified group. This was particularly handy in, for example, the following use cases:

  1. FC group management: You have multiple tiers of FCs, e.g., Gang, Senior, Alliance, each of which has its own group. You also have an overall FC group which contains the union of those groups, which can be used for, e.g., broadcasting to all the FCs, seeing the entire list of FCs, etc.

  2. Director group management: You have individual groups for corporation directors, e.g. Corp1 Directors, Corp2 Directors, etc. You also want an overall group that's composed of the union of all Director groups for assigning commonly shared permissions, facilitating broadcasts, etc. This case could be addressed by [Feature Request] Auto-Group Based on In-Game Permission Roles #51.

  3. Notice groups: You have different notification groups for pinging on your IM platform depending on the notifications received, e.g, a group for most sov, POS, or structure notifications when under attack, RFd, coming out of RF, etc. That group is made up of other existing groups, like Directors, High Command, and FCs, some of which might be meta-groups themselves.

Implementation
In the "Available for Whom" modal area, some kind of "SeAT Groups Filter" allowing you to choose one or more groups to make up the group.

Hey @Eingang

thank you for your contribution. This request is fairly familiar to this one: #12 . Unfortunately autogrouping on self referential seat-groups is a fairly difficult thing to achieve.

Have you tried to achieve your use case via managed groups and add other seat-groups as manager? This feature was added with version 1.3.0

I'm happy to take this on the backlog, however don't expect a resoultion anytime soon as there are more important, cheaper and less complex things in the current backlog.
