Sorry for the brief reply. Honestly the entire "chrono maintenance" topic is quite complex, but from what I understand it is not unmaintained.

ok, you're right, I just had a lot of trouble with chrono in the past and now when I run cargo audit in my project it makes trouble again (time v0.1.45 was yanked but the latest publishedchrono v0.4.23 (2 months ago) depends on it).

just look how icalendar uses chrono, the trick is to not use the default-features ( they are for backward compat ) and instead specify this magic set of features there
