I have been using Ponoko for laser cutting, but they do not appear to have 3mm and 6mm wood thicknesses. Also, they don't take CorelDRAW files. (Seems like most places take SVG files, which would also seem better suited to an open source project.) Do you have a recommendation for an online service that can do the laser cutting in the required materials?

Sorry, we don't have any recommendations as we were doing the cutting in-house.

We'll look into converting the files to SVG soon and get back to you!

I just made my first order for my first attempt at building Blossom. I used Ponoko (web search). You can use an online converter and turn the cdr files into svg files - it's free. The order came through fine. I used MDF for the 3mm. I used Amber Bamboo and got it 6.7mm. It is too thick. But, using my trusty Dremel, I shaved down the sides where the slots were and it went together OK. Just the same, I ordered another 5.7mm sheet from White Oak. It should arrive next week. You probably know that they have the 1.5mm clear vinyl. Be advised, the 6mm template appears to be missing one of the two round supports for the middle of the tower. There is an extra round 3mm circle that isn't used for anything. But, the templates I sent Ponoko needed another small round 6mm piece with three slots cut out. I am getting that in this second order in the White Oak. I'll see if the 5.7mm tower looks better than my trimmed 6.7 MDF; but, after putting it together, I'm not disappointed.

Hello,

Does anyone have SVG files that they used to cut the parts? For some reason when I try converting to .svg from .cdr it messes with the dimensions.

Thanks!
