Rplidar USB0 error....

I followed all the instructions for installing all the software on an raspberry pi4. All is working great. I am able to use teleop from the create3_examples. however, when running the Rplidar example, I am getting the below error. it seems to be unable to open and bind to USB0. Do I need to make a change to the RPLidar files to use a different port? In the instructions, in the network-config the USBO dhcp4 is set to false. The error seems to be related?

Stupid question: when you plug your RPLidar A8 into your Raspberry Pi's USB port, what device does it come up as? What does dmesg say?

Your Pi is not seeing your LIDAR. Is the LIDAR spinning? Is the light on, on the SLAMTEC adapter board? Are you sure your USB A to Micro B cable is not a power-only one?

yes it is spinning, I do not see a light on on the SLAMTECH adapter, I will check the cable type....

after trying 3 different cables, I found that two were power and the other bad, i used the same cable I use for programming my pixhawk and I am now getting the green light and the error is gone.

I will post if I can now use the RPlidar example in a few.... Rviz was finding the robot, just no lidar info.

Please be sure you are using a power+data cable between the LIDAR and the SBC. The LIDAR should be spinning and the green light on its adapter board should be illuminated to signal there is both a power and a data connection.
