Is this API reliable on Chrome/Android at the moment?

Testing this example on a Pixel 2 (Android 11, Chrome 89.0.4389.105) is incredibly intermittent for me. The reticle sometimes doesn't appear at all, and when it does, it's only ever able to detect the floor (no tables or walls). I'm testing in a well lit environment.

Perhaps my device is faulty or I'm expecting too much at this stage? I've seen some video of users with more success than me. Apologies in advance if this is the wrong place to be posting this.
