This is because of the known issue in Cadence client:
uber-go/cadence-client#1107
uber-go/cadence-client#812
caddyserver/xcaddy#27

The recommended fix is to override the Thrift dependency:

in go.mod

replace github.com/apache/thrift => github.com/apache/thrift v0.0.0-20190309152529-a9b748bb0e02
