Abes_Attendance_Extension Setup Guide

This guide explains how to set up and load a Chrome extension locally.

Prerequisites

Setup Instructions

  1. Unzip the Extension Files (if needed):

    • If the extension is in a .zip file, unzip it to a folder on your computer.
  2. Open the Extensions Page in Chrome:

    • Open Google Chrome.
    • Navigate to the Extensions page by entering chrome://extensions/ in the address bar.
  3. Enable Developer Mode:

    • Toggle the “Developer mode” switch at the top-right of the Extensions page.
  4. Load the Unzipped Extension:

    • Click on the “Load unpacked” button.
    • In the file dialog, locate and select the folder containing your extension files.
    • Your extension should now appear on the Extensions page.
  5. Pin the Extension:

    • Locate the puzzle piece icon in the top-right corner of Chrome (next to the address bar).
    • Click the puzzle piece icon to open the Extensions menu.
    • Find your extension in the list, then click the pin icon next to it to add it to your toolbar.

Notes

  • You can now access the extension directly from your Chrome toolbar or from pinned extentions
  • For updates, replace the files in the extension folder and reload it from the Extensions page.

 **AFTER THIS YOU ARE GOOD TO GO , JUST LOAD CHROME AND HIT THE EXTENTION TO SEE YOUR ATTENDANCE**

How to use the extension

Access the Extension:

  • Open Chrome.
  • Pin the extension.
  • Click on it.
  • Enter your credentials and hit the save button. (credentials will be saved) , you will see your attendance if the creds were valid AFTER THIS YOU ARE GOOD TO GO , JUST LOAD CHROME AND HIT THE EXTENTION TO SEE YOUR ATTENDANCE
  • (If any error or in case of wrong credentials, it will show alert)

Some features of the extension

  1. Change Saved Credentials

    • In case if you entered wrong credentials or to change the credentials, Click change credentials, and then save it again.
  2. Recover Pass

    • To recover the password, click Forgot Password, enter your Username and hit submit. (You will recieve recovery link on your college mail)
  3. See Your Profile

    • To see your profile, below the attendance you see a see more button ckick on it .
  4. *Change Quiz pin

    • To change pin , go to your profile you will see your quiz pin , to change it just click the pin , enter new pin and hit tick.
