there's no packagist package for it4mage/CashOnDelivery, the doc still refers to msp/CashOnDelivery which is older and uses the msp repository.

IMHO the best option is to create a packagist package for this repo, thus actually making this module independent from the original version.

what do you think about that?

But before this the package name should be changed in the composer.json file. @fballiano could you please provide a PR for this? You could also adapt the README.

sadly no, I tried and packagist tells me:

The vendor name "it4mage" was already claimed by someone else on Packagist.org. You may ask them to add your package and give you maintainership access. If they add you as a maintainer on any package in that vendor namespace, you will then be able to add new packages in that namespace. The packages already in that vendor namespace can be found at it4mage.If those packages belong to you but were submitted by someone else, you can contact us to resolve the issue.
