How do you get the values of a query?

I am trying to do a select call to see if a user exists.
Here is the code for that functon:

func (dbpool *DatabasePool) doesUserExists(ctx context.Context, username string, password string) (bool, error) {
	query := `SELECT COUNT(*) FROM "user" WHERE password = @Password AND username = @Username;`
	args := pgx.NamedArgs{
		"Username": username,
		"Password": password,
	}
	res, err := dbpool.db.Query(ctx, query, args)
	defer res.Close()
	if err != nil {
		fmt.Println(err)
		return false, fmt.Errorf("unable to create table: %w", err)
	}
	fmt.Println(res.RawValues())
	return true, nil
}

I am not entirely sure how to get the values from the query. I tried using res.Values() instead of res.RawValues(), but the server crashed.

EDIT: I figured it out. You need to do something like this:

var value int64
dbpool.db.QueryRow(ctx, query, args).Scan(&value)
...
