As the title says, is it normal to have low CPU usage and still have the fans always on?
They are not at full speed, neither the CPU is hot but its just annoying to hear the fans on all the time.
I remember last year when i used mojave with clover didn't have this problem. I really like OpenCore, don't feel like going back to Clover :/

when just doing normal work and browsing the internet my fans stay off. what is your cpu usage and your temps? as far as i know the fans are controlled by the bios and in windows it was way worse for me. you cant really change anything about the fans being on while the cpu is resting at 50deg

With my CPU Clock on 800mHz - 1.2 GHz and the cpu is resting at 37 degrees. Still the fans are always on. Not super noisy but on.

ok that doesnt sound right. what cpu do you have? and have you tried generating your own CPUFriendDataProvider.kext or undervolting?

Hello yesterday I installed catalina in my XPS9570 (i7 8Th gen, 32GB RAM, 4K) with your opencore bundled packages, everything works great (great job!) but I have the same issue with the fans.. those never stops :(

Same here-I'm going to try disabling SMCdellsensors.kext

@Drowningfish223 im pretty sure this wont help since the fans are controlled by the BIOS firmware. But undervolting really solved the problem for me. Now my fans stay turned off most of the time
