What I'm seeing
Before this plugin can be installed, Norton scans it and removes it.
Norton Security History shows it as a medium severity threat with a bad reputation level (big red "X").
I'm loath to install something that Norton says is suspect, even though I know it's probably fine.
I bet others are too.
This could be considered a bug, but since it's obviously not hampering some, maybe it's a feature request. If this software has malware content, then it is a bug, so feel free to move it to that venue if that's the case.
Preferred Resolution
Please communicate with Norton or manipulate the program in such a way that it doesn't trip Norton's trigger.
Reasoning
I downloaded the websockets plugin, also from github, same methodology for install. Websockets comes across as likely more of a security risk, so I have to wonder what's different about text slideshow that trips Norton to remove the plugin installer immediately.
Thanks!

Thanks for the report. I will definitely look into this. I suspect that this could be because both the Windows and macOS installers are unsigned. I added a note to the README describing this. Unfortunately signing the installers would require purchasing a certificate for Windows and a subscription to the Apple Developer program for macOS which unfortunately I don't have the money for at the moment as certificates and subscription prices are pretty high. I will definitely investigate the issue though to see if there are any workarounds.
System
Windows 10, Norton, OBS V27.0.1
