Hi, I think you should display a donation option more prominently. I found a bitcoin address in the clearskies_core repo, but not many people go there, and there isn't even a bitcoin logo or a colorful donate button, or something to catch the eyes.

I think this project is pretty awesome, and I think many people might support the efforts if you made it a bit easier. Adding a paypal option might not hurt either.

Thanks for the issue. I feel like what the project really needs is more developers, not money, at this stage. This is especially true because of our multi-platform ambitions. While we might have some costs associated with the project if it is successful, I think it'll be far easier to raise donations for those costs once we actually get to that point.

Obviously with enough money we could buy developers, but the best contributors to this project will be those that would work on it even without any monetary reward.

I guess that those that don't know how to program will be left without a way to contribute, especially as there isn't any released software to test, document, or promote. I will change the README to see if it can address non-programmers better, including a donation link. (And while I'm at it, see if it can also address programmers better.)

Well, it probably won't be enough money to hire any developers, but I greatly value FOSS programmers, and I'd like you guys to at least have a free beer for it occasionally :)

Considering programmers, apart from crypto experts, all you need help with currently are the platform GUIs?

There are lots of missing pieces of the C++ implementation as well. Here is a recent post from the mailing list that lists some of them:

You might also consider implementing a system like BitHub:
https://www.whispersystems.org/blog/bithub/

I think that preserves the intrinsic motivation while also adding a small
extrinsic 'bonus' from those who can only contribute monetarily.
