For a few years, I've have had fun with an FX file called EGAfilter5, which I've found on VOGONS. It's like EGAfilter.fx, only you can set the saturation, as well as the brightness, plus it mimics SCI technology.
What I've noticed is that it tries to mimic the 640x200 mode, so that 400 pixels each vertical lines, at 1x1, turns into 200 pixels of 1x2, per vertical lines, as long as the resolution is of 400p or more. Does anyone know how to edit this shader?
As you can see, I have set the brightness at 1.0 and the saturation at 2.0. Here you see an image of Duke Nukem 3D with EGAfilter5 in the mentioned setting, where there are 300 1x2 pixels for each vertical lines (well, almost), instead of 600 1x1 pixels.
