Having some monitoring and observability with Honeycomb.io would be helpful, and there are beelines for Python. However, there are some current blocker for doing this:

  • There currently is no Beeline middleware for FastAPI/Starlette (see here for more information
  • Beelines at this point do not support async-based Python utilities, such as Starlette.

Implementing Honeycomb can come later as these issues are resolved or we find another approach.
