Hi, I have the same problem: Invalid URL in field 'id'. The last position in breadcrumb is:
<li itemprop="itemListElement" itemscope itemtype="http://schema.org/ListItem" class="trail-item trail-end"><span itemprop="item"><span itemprop="name">POST NAME</span></span><meta itemprop="position" content="3" /></li>
, but google expects :
<li itemprop="itemListElement" itemscope itemtype="http://schema.org/ListItem" class="trail-item trail-end"><a href="URL" itemprop="item"><span itemprop="name">POST NAME</span></a><meta itemprop="position" content="3" /></li>?
Thanks for the help.

Same issue on my end as well.

Solution to the invalid URL in field 'id
is to remove schema.org markup for any unlinked breadcrumb (page)titles.

@redactuk i don't think of any update for this. i deleted the REAUIRED code for BREADCRUMB_TRAIL_MASTER plugin by @justintadlock and started to use schema.org plugin in wordpress. pro version is available too and it didn't conflict any other codes in my theme. search console errors started to dissapera (not yet finished)

@mohammadHM-AF Thanks. Looking at other forks I've decided best solution is adding parameter to disable all shema markup (as done by @premanshup) and letting my SEO plugin handle breadcrumb schema in the preferred JSON format. Ideally, a future version of this code would do this i.e. simply handle the html for trail and create separate JSON markup.

Here's a solution I've been using (adjusted to my own needs). :)

// Add the number of items and item list order schema.
// MODIFIED
if ( true === $this->args['show_title'] ) {
	$breadcrumb .= sprintf( '<meta name="numberOfItems" content="%d" />', absint( $item_count-1 ) );
} else {
	$breadcrumb .= sprintf( '<meta name="numberOfItems" content="%d" />', absint( $item_count ) );
}
// Loop through the items and add them to the list.
foreach ( $this->items as $item ) {

// MODIFIED
$orginal_title = $item;
// Build the list item.
// MODIFIED
if ( true === $this->args['show_title'] && $item_count === $item_position ) {
	$breadcrumb .= sprintf( '<%1$s class="' . $item_class . '">%2$s</%1$s>', tag_escape( $this->args['item_tag'] ), $orginal_title );
} else {
	$breadcrumb .= sprintf( '<%1$s %2$s>%3$s%4$s</%1$s>', tag_escape( $this->args['item_tag'] ),$attributes, $item, $meta );
}

This change only removes the schema when show_title is set to true.

@kiarashi @redactuk @fajo thanks for your support and hope @justintadlock make the required modification to the source code of the plugin.

This change only removes the schema when show_title is set to true.

I have had pasted it, but I don´t know if it was made right.

Here my code, maybe I have done it in the wrong way (I am still a beginner). Can you please check?
