Allow to select location manually #10

Absolutely. I came here to mention precisely this. PS: Organic Maps includes Wikipedia data in its offline database (which is the way it works, by the way, I mean, offline), so, maybe the Wikipedia data is already there, and just needs to be pointed at... Best regards! |
I was not aware that OrganicMap and Maps.Me also support kmz files. Thanks for this info.
This is on purpose to not implement/require gps-sensor access for privacy reasons. You have to use other apps to get articles near your current location. I currently use LocationShare for this (implemented here). See List of Geo-Clients for alternatives i know of. However i will add an Edit field to the gui where you can manually enter/modify the location |
Ohhh ok i understand! Having an edit field would certainly simplify the use of the app for first time users like me, thank you very much! |
Hi, @k3b , thanks a lot for your work!
Any idea when this would be available? Thanks again, and sorry to bother. 😅 |
This is a wonderful idea that works in perfect tandem with offline maps apps such as Organic Map or Maps.Me .
However, for some reason, this app cannot detect my current location.
I'd like to suggest to add a textbox so that I can input manually my location instead.
