Overview

Cannot type polish special characters like ń, ś, ć, ź, ż with right Alt Gr without activating the menu bar.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Click search bar
  2. Type ń (Alt Gr+n)

Expected Behavior

Alt Gr does not activate the menu bar, only the left Alt does (as is in Firefox, for example).

Actual Behavior

Alt Gr causes the menu bar to activate, allowing for accidental actions when typing.

Context

You need Polish keyboard selected. I imagine the problem is similar with other languages with special characters.

Do you have the menu hidden in keepassxc?

Actually, yes. I just tested it, and it does not behave like that with menubar enabled.

Interestingly, I tested it on linux too (KeePassXC 2.7.9, Flatpak, Ubuntu 24.10, Wayland) and with the menu bar hidden, Alt Gr properly does not activate the menu bar. Only the right Alt does so.

I found an elegant fix and also found this only impacts Windows because Windows translates AltGr into CTRL + ALT which Qt picks up a two different key presses. sigh
