Welcome to the SugarCRM Developer Wiki. This wiki will detail working with GitHub to contribute changes back to SugarCRM.
If you want to begin to participate in the SugarCRM community development process, you’ll need to set up your development environment and then you can provide a code contribution to SugarCRM thru Github. If you are new to git and Github, you can also go thru the Git Crash Course to help you get started.
Sugar Community Bug Fix contest is on thru July 2nd, see http://bit.ly/mxSgHR for more details
We do monthly webinars, normally on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, where we talk about what’s going on with SugarCRM and with the community. We also record each month’s sessions for viewing afterwards.

Back in April we moved our public repository from SVN to Github, where we also host all of our other code repositories. While there are many technical advantages to Git versus SVN, the biggest reason of all for the move for us it to enable easier code contributions to the project. While we’ve had several pull requests already, Git and Github are both new technologies to many and there is a bit of a learning curve in getting up and running with them.
If you want to learn about how to use Git and how to contribute to SugarCRM using Github, come to this month’s SugarCRM Community Webinar where I’ll walk everyone thru using Git and contributing your code fixes to us via Github. We’ll also have an exciting announcement at the meeting as well, so you’ll definitely want to make sure you are there.
We have a partner developer program as well that opens up access to our commercial source code repository, as well as early information on upcoming releases and full development team access. If you are interested, feel free to contact [email protected] for more information.
